Last night at Lake Mead National Recreation Area (Government Wash) was a little interesting. Three vehicles drove up an area nearby. I was relieved I didn't sleep out in the open, otherwise, I may have awakened with tire tracks on my chest.
Later in the evening, a truck and car pulled up right next to me. Of all the open areas, it amazed me they decided to park adjacent to me with the vastness of the open camping site. Then they started to play Tejano music at regular volume (which was tolerable, but relatively loud in the silent night), smoked, drank, and conversed. It seemed there were 2 guys and 3 girls in the group. The guys spoke quietly while the girls spoke a little louder. One of the girl shattered a bottle on the rocky ground and the guy scolded, "Hey, hey."
After about 20-30 minutes they decided to leave, thank goodness. It would be a shame if they ran out of alcohol. I could here the thumping of the loud mufflers as they slowly navigated their way out of Government Wash.
